Fabulous Room Friday 06.18.10

{This Nouvelle Orleans dining room features an antique crystal chandelier, a silk-screen of New Orleans-born gospel singer, Mahalia Jackson by artist Richard Thomas, and gorgeous Louis XV chairs upholstered in Louisiana Purchase Toile.}

I selected this week’s Fabulous Room, which was featured in House Beautiful a couple of years ago, in celebration of the fact that we are on our way to New Orleans! This feminine, exuberant dining room is part of a gorgeous New Orleans house designed by Hal Williamson. It represents every idea I have of New Orleans: romance, decadence, history, eccentricity, and over-the-top fabulousness!

Thanks again to ever who has given me tips for what will be our first trip to the Crescent City! I don’t think we’ll have the time to visit every place that has been recommended to us since we will only be there for the weekend, but we are looking forward to discovering the charm of New Orleans.

New Orleans is amazing, my family is from there, and although we live in Canada now, we visit quite frequently. Enjoy the trip, and I love the Louis XV chairs!
