{A Stunning, Marble-Filled Bathroom}
Carrera and Calcutta Gold marble have become staples of great design, particularly in kitchens and bathrooms. While these materials have been around forever, they’ve really become “must-haves” in high-end design over the past ten years. Countless kitchens have been converted from dark, stained cabinets and granite countertops to airy white cabinetry paired with white marble. Carrera tends to have strictly grey veins while Calcutta Gold often features warmer-hued veins, but they are fairly similar. While I love the look and do consider it to be classic, I can’t help but wonder if the look will eventually look “so 2006”.
What is your stance on white marble? Is it a classic that will never go out of style or are you ready to see something different in kitchen and bath design? If you’ve grown tired of it, what would you like to see in place of white marble?

I adore both! I think it's a true classic. However, I like to see it used creatively in new and unique ways and mixed with different tiles and textures.
I have calacatta marble in my kitchen and on my fireplace surround and I never tire of looking at it!
That bathroom is AMAZING!
Love it love it love it! The beauty of marble is that it's so subtle, yet so graceful in it's quiet confidence...Love the look of all white in the bathroom...So glam!

Peace. Love. LOL!

I clearly am not a high-end gal, not a fan of marble for myself. I fancy more pattern, big fan of tiles and Terrzo. For stone, I love limestone!
If done right, it can look amazing. Love the marble in the bathrooms. Great post!!! :)

Can't go wrong with marble. Always classic. Just ask the Romans.

As much as anything in kitchen design can be considered a classic, I think white marble is definitely a contender. It's simple, clean and luxurious at the same time. When I renovate my kitchen (something I probably won't be able to afford to do for another 10 years), I plan to include white marble.
I really love it and I don't think I'm going to tire of it because it has been done over and over and over and every time I see it I still love it.
I think I'm in love with this pictures! ;)
Stunning...every single image...
Namaste:)
personally i like marble for bathrooms and kitchens...i wish i could afford to do more if it! Would like a shower in marble! :)))

That marble trim in the last pic is gorgeous! I'm loving it...white marble is a classic and always will be.
I think marble is the PERFECT, timeless material. You can't go wrong with marble surfaces. That waterfall island is crazy...love everything about it.
If I can afford it, I want to have marble kitchen and bathrooms specifically on counters and on backsplashes. It's so classic and elegant. By the way, love the waterfall island and the marble arch, it feels so luxe.

Love marble, I am using it in my kitchen renovation. I have used it before and love the soft quality of the material. Not for those who want everything perfect perfect! It etches and stains even with the best sealant, but nothing compares for me.
I personally have always loved white marble, and I do hope/think it can stand the test of time. Beautiful images!
xx
love it! it's timeless.
Definitely love it as a material, but only when used for it's own beauty, not because it is what everyone else if having. Meaning, some spaces just look contrived, but others are beautiful - so much more needs to be going on than just selecting the "right materials" to make a space truly magic.
Love that top bathroom - but a stack of dark or coloured towels would look better than white, IMO. Dusty gold, or deepest inky blue.
Love it Love It Loooove it!
I think it's a classic and will always be a classic. But then again - OF COURSE - I would say that!! ALL my counters throughout the house and the tile in the master bath are carrera. I may have a bit of an obsession with it. To me, it's timeless.
I'm in LOVE with white marble and have it all over my house! I adore both Calcutta and carrerra but definitely think Calcutta has more interesting lines and colors ... It will never go out of style and will always remain a classic!
DEFINITELY LOVE IT!
10 years ago we renovated the kitchen of our first house using carrera marble and white cabinets. A year ago we did the same to our third house. Still not tired of it. Still love it!
Most definitely love it! The most classic stone with timeless appeal (When crazy over all the beautiful marble I experienced when visiting Rome). I recently used Calcutta Gold on a large kitchen island against a base color of Sherwin Williams Enduring Bronze with an umber glaze. Stunning!
I love white marble! It makes me feel secure and resolute. Super glamorous too:) Love your blog Paloma!
LOVE LOVE LOVE!! Thanks for sharing!
