I love the casual, layered elegance of this dining nook by Nathan Turner. I really like the simple tablecloth with the wide black band as well as the beautifully upholstered chairs. It all looks very European, doesn’t it? The perfectly-bookshelves and slightly off-center chandelier make the space feel a little more laid back, but no less inviting. It’s all so lovely!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

I love the idea of dining rooms having dual uses like this. Just adding books it becomes a great reading room too.

I'm loving that chandelier - such clean lines but still stunning! I would be a little worried having bright white upholstered chairs in my own dining room...
Bellissima!
I love the pop of color on the print to the left which throws you off a bit!
Absolutely charming. When is the next High Gloss coming out? Can't wait!xx

Love love love those chairs! I need them now! Thanks for the inspiration. Happy first weekend of spring! XO
Anything with black and bookshlelves is a winning combination in my book! I did a huge post today on black in interiors, this picture would fit right in! Beautiful....elegant while being inviting and sophisticated.
This is a very lovely room, it feels put together but very casually - I like that! I personally love the not so organized bookshelves, looks like they actually read the books instead of just display them...
Blah!
great balance of a masculine and feminine feel. love it
It’s really lovely!
thank you
Have a happy weekend!
I love the casual elegance of it..bookshelves and chandelier- a combination that rarely disappoints! thankyou for your lovely comment on my blog, Paloma..i hope you'll visit more often...a lovely weekend to you too! xx meenal.
Casual layered elegance always gets big points in my book. And anything with beautiful books and bookshelves is a keeper!!
I love the multi-purpose idea. You can dine, work, or have a meeting here! So nice to see personal items in a dining room too. It makes for interesting dinner conversation.
I am currently turning my dining room into a reading/dining room. Inky slate blue is up on the walls. Baseboards given a fresh coat of hi-gloss white. Next week = bookshelves.
Thanks for posting this because it confirms my suspicion that my rectangular table would be much better switched out for a round one!
In love with this room! I would love to use my dining room like this someday!

I like the room. I love high contrast spaces, though, and the white & black combo is just such a classic one. I'm not sure it looks really European to me, though. Maybe it looks more "American-trying-a-little-to-look-European", lol. Seems to me a European wouldn't coordinate the chair upholstery and tablecloths like this. It strikes me like it's a little "off" (which is very nice, here, too) but not quite confident enough to be *really off* and still fab. But, seriously, what the heck do I know?
