Preppy Perfection: Annsley Interiors

{I love the rich color palette in this living room by Annsley Interiors. How fabulous is the peacock blue, tufted velvet sofa?}
Boston-based interior designer, Annsley McAleer’s style reflects her Southern roots and current home base in New England. Her preppy style is fresh and young, but relies on classic shapes and styles—the embodiment of the “New Trad” aesthetic. I love her fearless use of color and pattern which turn up the volume on the polished spaces she designs. She pushes the boundaries with vivid palettes and interesting shapes, but is careful not to take the looks she creates into avant-garde territory. The result is chic, lively, and fun—traditional with a youthful twist. The spaces are not trendy, but feel quite “au courant”. After all, shouldn’t decorating be fun and reflective of the client’s personality and preferences?
{I really love the open look of the built-in shelving. Leaving out the back of the bookcases gives them a modern look.}

{I love that Annsley used Kelly Wearstler’s “Bengal Bazaar” fabric for the drapes in this nursery. It adds a nice graphic punch and keeps the space from being too sweet.}

{I LOVE this gorgeous banquette she used in a restaurant project! It would also make an amazing headboard.}

{A wallpapered ceiling is pretty darn fabulous, wouldn’t you say? It’s an unexpected way to incorporate color and pattern.

{The wallcoverings in this shot are simply bananas! Ink-colored grasscloth and Scalamandré’s Zebras in the gold colorway? Yes, please!! The combination is so rich.}

{The color palette and choice of Quadrille fabrics makes this such a cheerful space. Notice the way the beautiful windows are framed. }

{This chair is an interesting choice. It adds fluidity and texture and ventures on avant-garde, but paired with the otherwise classic shapes and preppy look, it doesn’t take things too far.}

{The classic feminine color palette for a girl’s room gets an ultra-glamorous twist here.}

{I love the fabric on the ottoman!}

{These chairs are so major! I love the shape and the upholstery.}

{Another preppy bedroom, I’m guessing this one is a guestroom. I love the layered use of patterns in rich colors. The fretwork lamps are super cute, too.}
