Discuss: Calypso St. Barth for Target

When Target first started doing their designer collaborations, I would get really excited about them. After all, what’s not to love about designer goods at Target prices? However, more often than not, I find that I don’t really love what they come up with and hardly ever end up buying anything. Well, the upcoming Calypso St. Barth collaboration may be the exception! Have you guys seen the new ads they are running for the collection? I love the colors and the home accessories, in particular.

{It looks like the collaboration will include Moroccan poufs for a veritable steal along with some really fun tabletop goods and accessories.}

{The clothes and jewelry in the ad are fine, but I am looking forward to seeing what they actually have in store when the collection debuts on May 1st. Is this a collaboration you are looking forward to?}

Unfortunately we don't have Target here in Canada. I so wish we did!

I'm taking a look at their website. The calypso St. seems to be so interesting. I'll have to know more.

Enjoy your day!

I loved this post because you said everything I was thinking! I get excited about their collaborations and then the clothing ends up being very obnoxious and somthing that the general public would look rediculous in. It's honestly just more overpriced crap, no offense to anyone that loves Target clothing. As for the Calypso collaboration, I have had mixed feelings. I am a huge Calypso fan so when I heard this news I was a little jelous and disappointed that it was being mass produced when it was always one of those hidden boutique like brands. I am sure many will flock to the stores but I won't be one of them.

Thanks for sharing!

Totally looking forward to this. Without Target and re-sale shops I would have no ability to style myself, home, husband and children! I also love what people throw out. I have an entry table and desk for my son's room that I found on the side of the road, brought home, repaired and painted. It all looks great and everyone wants to know where I got it. They laugh when I say "the trash". But its true! Budgets are no fun, but Target makes it possible.

Agreed, I am usually less than impressed by designer collections at Target but this one looks right up my alley, will have to check it out! Gracias, Paloma!

I am going to make a mad dash to my Target to get that Moroccan pouf! I've been holding out on buying my dream Serena & Lily one, and hopefully the Calypso for Target version will satisfy my craving! xo

Its very exciting and I totally agree with what you said..the "designer" name draws you in and you run into the store on lauch day in bated breath only to walk out empty handed and feeling deflated because though the name got you there, the goods just didnt' deliver! I sooo hope this is the exception..with a name like Calypso I am expecting big things and really hoping we are all not disappointed..let the countdown begin!

Very yummy! Love the warm color palette of the home goodies. I shall add this to my list of excuses to go shopping at Target.

I'm so excited about it, I put it in my calendar when they first announced it! I do pretty well at the designer sales - my Rodarte dress gets more compliments than the expensive dresses in my closet!

I have more hope for the home goods than the clothing. Very few designer collaborations are follow through well. Usually the colors are "too much" or the fabric is really bad. I am hopeful to finally get a pouf I desperately want but usually can't afford, and a metallic one??? Got my fingers crossed!

I almost squealed in the middle of the airport when I saw this ad! But, like you, I want to wait and see how the stuff really turns out. It looks fab though! Love the lanterns.

Yahooooo! I am going to be stalking several Targets! No doubt, I will not be alone. I have a feeling this stuff is going to sell out before it hits the floor.

I totally agree about be disappointed when there desinger stuff comes out. And just recently they brought back the favorites but I really didn't like any of them. Maybe some of them looked better on? I am excited to see the Calypso St. Barth stuff. Fingers crossed.
