Tolani's Morning Glory Scarf

La Dolce Vita has teamed up with Chickdowntown.com, purveyors of luxury fashion goods, for a very exciting giveaway! They carry hundreds of designer brands including Alice + Olivia, Betsey Johnson, Diane Von Furstenberg, Elizabeth and James, Giuseppe Zanotti, Habitual, Hudson, Loeffler Randall, Milly, and many, many more. Chickdowntown.com just started carrying a new designer called Siwy Jeans, which makes denim that is quickly becoming popular with many celebrities. Siwy was started by Michelle Siwy, who blends vintage styles to create a fashion forward jean.

In addition, they also carry Tolani scarves which are also extremely popular with celebrities like Sienna Miller, Kim Kardashian, Mary Kate Olsen, and Nicole Richie. Tolani’s line of fabulous, oversized scarves is as beautiful as it is versatile. One lucky La Dolce Vita reader will be the winner of Tolani’s gorgeous Morning Glory Scarf, which features “a riotous mix of swirling abstract florals and stripes in rich jewel tones.” The scarf (retails for $99) measures 27” x 72” in size, is 100% Silk, and is perfect for spring and summer!

Think of this as our recessionista fashionista stimulus package! A winner will be drawn at random on Thursday, April 30th. In order to be entered into the drawing, all you have to do is leave a comment telling me how you would wear the scarf.

Ok, fold it at the vertical half-point, put the folded scarf over your shoulder and then bring one of the end pieces through the loop from the top and the other through the loop from the bottom. Gives a great criss-cross look.

So pretty!! I would wear it with my black BCBG v-neck jersey dress to a wedding in Charleston SC in May, with fun purple pumps, my turquoise Prada clutch, and my gold Homero chandeliers. Then to a wedding in Connecticut in June with my turquoise Kay Unger sheath dress, big chandeliers (maybe gold w/ turquoise), gold sandals, and champagne Kate Spade clutch. On both occasions, I'd probably wear it over my shoulders and tie it in the back (if that makes sense). Gorgeous scarf and perfect to add that "punch" and uniqueness for dressy events.

OK, I'm disqualified because I don't live in the U.S. (but our mailing address is a U.S. APO, does that count? ;)
Anyway, I have a huge, leather Storksak diaper bag I bought before my daughter was born. I had hoped by getting a sorta-chic baby bag, my look (and carry-all) wouldn't scream "mommy."
To help de-mommy it some more, I'd tie the scarf loosely around a bag handle - the way I've seen Sienna Miller do.

This Beaut would start around tied around my favorite handbag, then migrate to my neck as I run out the door, then I would prob get bored and wear it around my head for a while ( i love scarves in the hair actually I love anything in my hair.). Then I would be hot because it would be a perfect summer day so I would forget the rest of the outfit and wear it around my waste or even heck as a dress. Honestly it would be a jack of all traits. (or a jill or all traits.) Lets just say between my 15 ways to wear it and my 3 fashion and fun loving roommates that share they closets with me this single baby could be worn in 45 different ways. Lets just say productive, resessionista, I pay for manhattan apartment; budget friendly.

I LOVE the versatility of scarves!
In addition to wearing them numerous ways around the neck (with a great summer dress and sandals, killer jeans and jacket for the evening, or as an accessory to the cardigans/skirts I wear to work) I also like placing them in spots around the house as part of my decor. Using the scarf to give the couch or leather armchair a splash of color, or wrapping it loosely around a vase of flowers, really adds a feminine touch to my living space.

Three cheers for scarves!

soleistyle said...

Just looking at the scarf made me happy, the colors are stunning. If I were still 20, I would turn the scarf into a halter top and wear it with a comfy pair of cut off jeans and go stroll the boardwalk with a big straw bag and sandles that had leather wraps up my ankles. Since however I will be 60 in two weeks, I would wear it around my neck and then open it to use as a shawl when my shoulder got cold in the evening over a mustard colored linen dress.
Thanks for bringing beauty into the lives of us old gals as well.
Cheers Soleistyle.

I would wear this scarf everyday!!! I would first wear it wrapped very loosely around my neck with jeans and some of the bright new featherweight Ts I just got on sale from Gap (yellow, orange, turquoise, tan striped...) and flats. WHen it gets warmer I would pair it with dresses of all colors. Around the neck with more casual, cotton dresses and around my shoulders when dressier. During the summer I would use it as a sarong to make an old solid bathing suit feel new. It's so versatile and would brighten up my wardrobe since I don't have money for lots of new clothes.

And, of course, would come quite handy when we take beach trips as I don't own a swimsuit coverup! It's beautiful.
