It takes a little more to blow me away on the interior design front nowadays than it once did. After being deeply entrenched in design on a daily basis for almost five years, more and more spaces start to look alike and it takes something extra special to really knock my socks off. Well, that is exactly what happened when I spotted this incredible kitchen on my friend, Cococozy’s blog. A friend of hers sent her some photos of her newly-renovated kitchen she had designed. Inspired by Christopher Peacock, the kitchen is rooted in the design basics that have come to be considered classic markers of good taste: white cabinetry juxtaposed with dark floors, carrera marble countertops, a farm sink, and subway tile. What makes this space truly exceptional is the way in which these materials are used. The homeowner has chosen unique lighting, designed a show-stopping, brass hood for her stunning Italian-made ILVE Majestic Stove, and really played up the original windows and mouldings with high-gloss paint.
While one could say that this kitchen looks like it’s been inspired by French or English design, it feels distinctly “L.A.” to me. I fall more and more in love with the look and design scene in Los Angeles after every trip I take there. I am not sure what neighborhood this home is in, but it looks very, very “Hancock Park” to this L.A. design lover.
Have a wonderful weekend!

I enjoy that the subway tile goes all the way up to the ceiling and meets up with the black trim. Nice that there is an art wall in there as well. Great details.
This kitchen is like heaven! I am dying over the brass hood. Happy Holiday-ish weekend, Paloma!

I love this black and gold kitchen! Gorgeous!
This is amazing! I love the black and white and the wonderful gallery wall!
I have sold some pieces to this couple and the rest of the house is just as amazing - every single inch has a wow factor - from lacquer walls to hand painted De Gournay wallcoverings - it is in the Garden District, New Orleans...

I think I've been staring at the second image for a good five minutes. There's just so much to take in! It's amazing how the tilt of the window openings, along with the black trim, just pulls the eye up and the space seems so BIG. Beautiful!
Oh my goodness that brass hood is gorgeous! Love the gallery wall too. An amazing space!

Fabulous!
Honestly, I had the same feelings...
I have seen it all when it comes to Interior Design, and while I love most, I am rarely floored by an image. But..my jaw, literally, DROPPED, when I saw this kitchen. I am in love. I also couldn't help but feel in love with the person who designed it, because I literally had this pictured in my head as my dream kitchen - and now it is here in front of me in real life, and someone else designed it. CRAZY! Sooo so so beautiful.
