When an email announcing Kyle Bunting’s new collection first landed in my inbox yesterday, I wasn’t quite sure what I was looking at right away. I did, however, immediately recognize that I loved the pattern and rich, shiny colors in the image above. It turns out, these are cowhide rugs. The patterns are absolutely gorgeous!
I eat meat and wear leather, but I’m not positive that I would put a hide in my home. How do you feel about that issue? Could you envision one of these beauties in your home? I’d love to see them available in silk as an alternative.

They're gorgeous indeed. I prefer the 1st one.
I would use it, I think... but if you really analyze it, it's a little bit weird, eh?

Sure, I'd consider throwin' one down somewhere.
These sorts of things always remind me of Argentina, where cowhide is king ;)

I LOVE Kyle Bunting rugs and he's one of the nicest guys ever! When I worked at the David Sutherland Showroom in West Hollywood, we represented his line and I loved all his pieces! What great new designs - thanks for sharing!!!!
xo,
Vanessa
I'm mad for all his stuff! His new spring colors, inspired by what he loves, are gorgeous. I'd be more than ecstatic to have one of his pieces.
I LOVE KYLE BUNTING RUGS, I ALWAYS GET ONE FOR MY CLIENTS. I HAVE 3 OF THEM AT HOME AND I WANT TO ADD SOME WALL COVERING AS WELL... THEY ARE SIMPLY THE BEST.
Very pretty, but I agree, silk would be preferable!
Congrats on High Gloss, loved the first issue, can't wait to read more!

These are GORGEOUS!! I've been debating a cowhide for a very long time and just when I thought I could do it, my husband (my Southern, country, deer-hunting husband) saw me looking at it and said he couldn't bear it and would never allow it in our home! So, oh well. :-(
i don't eat meat and don't wear leather. if you knew what happened to these cows(animals) and how they 'live' before being killed for fashion, you'd never display a decorative cowhide. i pretty much only wear stella and use recycled or reclaimed stuff in my home. http://www.annettem.com
I think they are pretty fabulous. Love the first and second one.
I absolutely LOVE these! I have a brown and white cowhide in my living room mixed w/a modern sectional. But I'm also from Austin! (Kyle's rugs are from Austin too) I'm a huge fan of his line...would LOVE to own one. I'm thrilled with the new modern twist to his designs.
I'll take one!
i think they are fab. love the second one. i have no issues with cowhide rugs, and bring many back from argentina.
I had the pleasure of interviewing Kyle in depth for SFLuxe http://sfluxe.com/2011/02/20/tea-with-claudia-kyle-bunting/
I learned a lot about the background and construction of KB cowhide rugs. You may be happy to know Paloma that the cowhides are a by-product of the meat industry. I cannot think of a more beautiful use than for these gorgeous rugs, wall coverings, and upholstery materials.
And Vanessa, I agree, Kyle is not only talented but also super nice.
Cheers,
Claudia
