Currently Loving: Lela Rose Spring 2011 RTW

Lela Rose Spring 2011 Ready-to-Wear

New York Fashion Week is well under way and there are already several collections that I absolutely love. One of my current favorites is that of Lela Rose. I love it for its lady-like, polished silhouettes as well as the use of a classic color palette mixed with fun, bold colors. All of the pieces are so wearable and Rose included a fantastic mix of dresses and separates. The collection was an homage to Peru, which Rose is planning to visit. Rather than traveling to Peru for inspiration, she created the collection as an homage to local Peruvian artisans through her use of colors, shapes, and accessories.

Whether intentional or not, the collection seems to be divided into neutral pieces and very bold, bright pieces. They actually work beautifully together. Which part of the collection do you most identify with? Would you be more likely to wear the neutral pieces or the bold ones?

I was in NY right before Fashion Week and thought seriously about staying to catch a show or two. That is a beautiful line, love the architectural quality of the pieces. I really like the first two pictures the best.

Have you seen the new Kravet line from Oscar De La Renta?

I love Lela Rose too and although I can't afford any of her real runway pieces, her shoe line at Payless always has really cute stuff and are a cute way to accessorize. I have quite a few pairs :)

What a fabulous collection! I'm more of a neutrals person, but these bold pieces are just stunning - so hard to choose! x

I liked this until that orange number and then I LOVED this. I have been looking for an orange dress lately and there aren't many around that do this colour justice. Needless to say I vote BOLD.

Thank you so much for posting this. I'm not usually into Runway etc. but these clothes are beautiful. Off to check out Lela Rose some more!
