Can You Keep a Secret?

I'm so excited about the vintage maps we framed and hung in our formal living room! They are fun and unique and so very "us". The secret is that they aren't really vintage maps. They are sheets of gift wrap printed on very nice quality Italian paper by Cavallini & Company. The designs are of authentic vintage maps, but in a budget friendly form.

The Paris map features all of the city's famous monuments.

Vintage Map of New York City

This map of Rome also features the city's most famous monuments.

The London map is my favorite of the four. It has the most vibrant colors and features some famous nursery rhyme characters like Little Bo Peep, Humpty Dumpty, and the Old Woman who Lived in a Shoe.

I love your maps! I have two maps I need to frame, one of Florence and one of Italy. They look a lot like your Paris one!

Okay, I just went to the Cavallini and Company website and I just may need the Paris and Rome maps to go with my other two...did you find them in Houston?

Awesome, thanks for the website! I can't believe how economical the maps are! I thought mine were a steal, (def. by the same company) for $6/each in an antique shop (and that was apparently 75% off)! I've looked into framing the ones I have but I can't commit yet. Where did you have yours framed? They look so great over your sofa.

The whole project was really easy on the budget! The posters are 20 x28, which isn't a standard size. I looked into having custom frames made, but that would have gotten pretty pricey really quickly. On a whim, my husband suggested we try Ikea and they had frames for $30 each that were like 19 3/4 x 27 or so. He had to trim a couple of the maps a tiny bit, but I think they turned out pretty great.

That's awesome...I have a silver Ikea frame with another print in it and I thought it was pretty darn close. Of course I had these awesome custom thin gold frames priced out and I can't get that out of my head.

What a great idea, they look wonderful. One of those things I always want to do when I see fabulous prints (scarves, wallpaper samples, fabric etc) but never seem to get around to doing!

This is such a brilliant idea, Paloma! And they fit perfectly in your living room. By the way, I'm secretly jealous of your floor lamp.

Looks fabulous.. I feel inspired! I got my map at Shabby Chic but it was so reasonably priced and I do remember that they also had London and Rome too.... I love how you did them all together! So pretty!
