High Point Highlights

High Point Highlights via La Dolce Vita | www.ladolcevitablog.com {AERIN for Visual Comfort & Co. | I am obsessed with those new sconces!}

I am back from a fun-filled, yet exhausting trip to High Point for market. I explored High Point Market with my dear friend Mark Sikes who had never been to market before, his partner Michael, and our friend, Sarah. It seems like everything is an adventure in High Point from crazy travel delays, the most convoluted routes for getting around (Thanks, Siri!), and meeting so many colorful characters. The market is massive, so we took a more relaxed approach and made sure to visit our favorite vendors. Surely, I am biased, but my favorite showroom is always Visual Comfort. It may help that I get to see my husband when I visit, but they just opened a new, much larger showroom that is just beautiful. The product is always so good and this season is no exception. There were so many new designs that we were dying over, particularly some of the new AERIN lights. On the furniture front, we loved Hickory Chair, Aerin Lauder’s line for EJ Victor, and Celerie Kemble’s collection for Henredon. We had a chance to visit with Celerie and she is so lovely and down to earth. We also got a special tour of Mary McDonald’s beautiful new collection for Chaddock from Mary herself, but unfortunately, I cannot share any photos on the blog because one of the major magazines has an exclusive, so you’ll just have to check out my Instagram for some sneak peeks. Our last stop at market was Natural Curiosities. It was great to see their collection on display as I have ordered several pieces of their artwork for clients and have another piece myself.

Aside from seeing lots of great product, I enjoy these experiences because I always come home feeling inspired and focused with a laundry list of new goals to achieve thanks to conversations with friends and industry icons alike. I have tons of photos on my iPhone, but I’ll keep it short and sweet and share only my favorite pieces from this market.

High Point Highlights via La Dolce Vita | www.ladolcevitablog.com {One of the best recurring themes we noticed at market was the use of rattan or wicker with metal accents. This stunning new floor lamp by AERIN for Visual Comfort & Co. features a white metal shade, brass body, and rattan accents. It’s SO chic! We were instantly obsessed with this piece.}

{We noticed a lot of sculptural pieces including these beautiful table lamps by AERIN as well.}

{AERIN’s task lighting is the chicest on the market, hands down.}

High Point Highlights via La Dolce Vita | www.ladolcevitablog.com {Thomas O’Brien also had some beautiful new introductions for Visual Comfort. One of my favorites was this sconce with convex mercury glass and a brass backplate. You wouldn’t really use it as a main light source, but it would be like a piece of art.}

{I also loved this new pressed glass and brass chandelier by Sandy Chapman. It is glamorous without being over the top. Sort of like me—or so I’d like to think! Ha!}

{I fell in love with this beautiful new John Rosselli sconce.}

High Point Highlights via La Dolce Vita | www.ladolcevitablog.com {These chandeliers are so chic. Perfect for any environment whether modern or traditional. They would be great for an entry or powder room.}

High Point Highlights via La Dolce Vita | www.ladolcevitablog.com {Another piece I am obsessed with is this new bistro chandelier from Visual Comfort’s Studio line.}

High Point Highlights via La Dolce Vita | www.ladolcevitablog.com {The French Library and Boston Functional Wall Lights are timeless classics.}

High Point Highlights via La Dolce Vita | www.ladolcevitablog.com {These glass and brass sconces are a glamorous new addition. They also come in Alabaster and in various metal finishes. Apparently, our friend Nicole Gibbons thought they were a winning design as well!}

{There were some great new introductions at AERIN for EJ Victor. This year, the showroom’s palette felt a little more subdued and a bit more masculine.}

High Point Highlights via La Dolce Vita | www.ladolcevitablog.com {AERIN introduced a few beautiful new casegood pieces like this rattan, Parsons-style side table with brass accents. The collection also includes a fabulous étagère in the same style.}

High Point Highlights via La Dolce Vita | www.ladolcevitablog.com {On the first day, we had lunch with wonderful Suzanne Kasler. She is one of the nicest, most gracious people I have met in this industry. She really knows how to make anyone feel like an old friend. Her collection is always a highlight at Hickory Chair and this year was no exception.}

High Point Highlights via La Dolce Vita | www.ladolcevitablog.com {Suzanne’s Annsley Slipper Chair is one of my favorite pieces from her collection and I love it even more in sumptuous saddle leather.}

High Point Highlights via La Dolce Vita | www.ladolcevitablog.com

{Alexa Hampton took a very bold, fearless approach with her collection this season, using color, pattern, and her own abstract art at every turn.}

High Point Highlights via La Dolce Vita | www.ladolcevitablog.com {Another highlight this market was Celerie Kemble for Henredon. Her collection is whimsical, glamorous, and rooted in tradition. This banquette vignette was my favorite. The ebony table with bone inlay features a star base. The tufted banquette has several exquisite details as well.}

High Point Highlights via La Dolce Vita | www.ladolcevitablog.com {The sofa in this vignette has great lines. Don’t even get me started on the fabulous Lucite and brass cocktail table!}

High Point Highlights via La Dolce Vita | www.ladolcevitablog.com {This is just one of several super chic casegoods we spotted at Celerie’s.}

High Point Highlights via La Dolce Vita | www.ladolcevitablog.com

{This mural is from Celerie’s forthcoming line of wallcoverings with Fromental. I love the colors of the wallcovering, paired with the pretty, neoclassical console, and the glamorous light fixture.}

High Point Highlights via La Dolce Vita | www.ladolcevitablog.com {Celerie knows how to serve up the glamour!}

{We all agreed that this was one of our favorite pieces from market. This brass, leather, and rattan log basket by Celerie Kemble is chic, chic, chic! While most of us would consider this combination of materials classic, it is definitely having a major moment right now.}

Did you attend market this season? What were some of your favorite collections/items/trends? If not, are there any pieces in this post that you love? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I am so finicky about lighting (I like it super simple), but some of these are just gorgeous! Maybe I'm being turned...
