Fabulous Room Friday 09.06.13

Snip20130905_174

I spotted the photo above on Pinterest the other day and was excited to find out that it was from a feature in the September issue of Matchbook. I was instantly drawn in by the chic blonde sitting atop a gorgeous kitchen island flanked by two beautiful brass Classic Ring Chandeliers from Circa Lighting. I’ve never seen them used over an island (it must be a really huge island!) and they look fabulous. I love the combination of white cabinetry paired with the grey island. All of the elements in the kitchen are completely classic—carrara marble countertops, white subway tile, shaker style cabinetry—yet it all feels so fresh and inspired.

It turns out the house belongs to a talented husband and wife design duo, Benjamin and Genifer Sohr of Pencil + Paper Development Co. who founded their design firm in 2010 after more than 20 cumulative years of working in store design and visual merchandising for several retail giants including Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Victoria’s Secret, and The Body Shop. The Sohrs currently focus on residential interior design in Nashville.

Fabian and I are heading to London tomorrow and couldn’t be more excited. Be sure to follow me on Instagram for some peeks into our adventures! Have a great weekend!

Excellent detective work - I saw that on Pinterest, too, and wondered who might cook in that fabulous kitchen.

Wishing you love and luck in London!

It's a dream! White on white does it every time...with a supporting cast of brass chandeliers, blond wood stools/woven baskets, and anchored by a cool medium-tone wood floor. Red pot on the stove winks at the whole kitchenscape. Lovely.
