Blogger's Block

I am having a case of writer's block, or blogger's block, if you will. If you are a regular reader, then you know that since the start of the new year, I have been featuring my Jet Set posts on Thursdays or Fridays as a mental escape for the end of the week. Unfortunately, I have been feeling slightly uninspired for the past couple of days. Sure, I have a few destinations in mind, but I can't seem to pull the trigger on any one of them. I don't know if it's the fact that I have been feeling pretty sick for the past two weeks, or the fact that the weather went from sunny and eighty degrees two days ago to a non-stop déluge and forty-five degrees today. Either way, I just can't seem to narrow it down.

If you have suggestions for destinations or hotels you'd like to see featured on Jet Set, I would love to hear from you!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! I hope to be back with lots of good content in a couple of days. In the meantime, I'd like to invite you to check out my previous Jet Set posts.

I dont know what it is, but I think its going around. I had to add new blogs to my follows because not many were being updated.

Thanks, Paige! I have actually been thinking of doing a Bay Area round-up, so you may see that here pretty soon!

Tam, I think my problem is the opposite. I have been posting a ton lately and I think it finally caught up with me. :(

Paloma,
I totally know what you are going through. I was dealing with that a couple of weeks ago. I was getting over the flu, in a horrible mood to my job situation, and the weather was horrible. I had complete writer's block. Don't worry after a couple of days I started to feel better and turned my frown upside down. So cheesy, but it worked.

It will all start coming to you again. Just relax and enjoy your weekend!

Hope you unblock soon! Have you thought of Barcelona, Istanbul, St Petersburg, Prague (up and coming), Marrakech, Valencia & Sevilla, Saalbach, Reykjavik...?

Paloma,
I understand where you are completely. I feel like such a first grader when it comes to blogging...I am still trying to find my niche. I loved your post on your facebook adventure. You are a lovely person and this too will pass, the weather gets to me BIG time. When I lived in Alaska I had seasonal affectiveness disorder (SAD) and I still get it if there are too many dreary days in a row. Enjoy your weekend, have some champagne, take a bubble bath and you will renew!
Blessings...

Referencing the Napa/Sonoma idea, the Sonoma Mission Inn is quite fabulous!!
Or, for someone that would like to do the Sonoma area a more limited budget and is interested in a cute little kitschy-cool hotel/motel sort of place, I have stayed at the Sonoma Creek Inn a few times. I thought it was adorable, the patio is a great place to drink wine, play cards, and listen to music and it's right down the street from the Sonoma Mission Inn. You could make reservations for spa treatments there. Oh, and the breakfasts at the Creekside Cafe (attached to the Sonoma Creek Inn) is fabulous. Again, key word here is 'Kitschy' (that does NOT apply for the Sonoma Mission Inn, however). These places are on a street that is in the middle of a working class neighborhood, but I find it all very authentically charming.

This will pass for sure, guess we all have been there. I am blocked ever day struggling with my English and circling the PC if I really, I mean really should take on this writing again - in a language not my first. I am German, thinking Spanish and now live here and cope with my limited English. We will get over it.

You deserve a break. (And I agree about the weather going from spring back to winter--depressing!)

I've been having the same problem, my dear. Every day lately I wake up and think, 'ugh, another blog post!'

but if it's any consolation, the quality and style of your posts is as inspiring to me as ever!

Have you checked out the mythical Shangri-la region of China? It's called Lijiang and there's a gorgeous Banyan Tree resort there. Some of the Spanish Paradors (castles converted to hotels) are great too! Cheer up and thanks for the great blog! Spring's almost here.

Could you please feature San Francisco & Napa on one of your upcoming jet set blogs? My husband and I are planning a trip out there in July, we are from the East Coast & this will our first trip to California (and hopefully not our last!)
