This week’s “Fabulous Room” is a sapphire stunner created by one of my long-time favorite designers, Amanda Nisbet. The living room which is featured in Nisbet’s new, aptly named book, Dazzling Design is a testament to her acute ability to work with color, scale, and texture imbuing the spaces she designs with glamour and joie de vivre. I love that Nisbet creates special moments within each space along with the fact that she is a risk taker who doesn’t shy away from the use of bold, statement-making design elements. I particularly love this room for the use of deep saturated blue hues paired with the cool ice blue of the silk-blend wallpaper. The combination of blue hues along with the pops of purple, green, and yellow make the space feel like a well-designed jewel box.
{Nesbit made excellent use of the space in this living room, creating plenty of seating. Paired with the rich finishes and sumptuous textures, the room is incredibly chic and inviting.}
{The emerald green in the framed photograph adds a striking contrast to the room.}
{The reflection in the mirror above the fireplace captures the unique mercury glass chandelier as well as the large photograph of a South American villa that has been ravaged by a flood. According to Nisbet, “it is a quietly severe artwork that encourages contemplation—and that blue, by intensifying the architecture’s force and drawing one into the color’s depths, contributes to the meditative mood”.}

Have a wonderful weekend!
