{Jennifer Aniston rocked a braid at this year’s Academy Awards. The woman has not aged in the last ten years. She looks amazing!}
Last Wednesday, while watching High Society (Please don’t judge me. It’s a total train-wreck and I can’t look away!), I noticed Tinsley Mortimer’s cute little braid. She wears it quite a bit and I was so drawn to it, partly because she rocks it with straight hair. Usually, braids like this are worn with loose, bohemian waves. I almost always wear my hair straight, so naturally, I gravitated towards Tinsley’s cute look. Since then, I have quickly become braid-obsessed! It makes for a great summer look, doesn’t it?
{Notice how Tinsley’s braid is sort of centered on her head while most of the others sit closer to the forehead. Any tips for getting this look just right?}
{Lauren Conrad’s hair always looks amazing, so you probably won’t be surprised to find several images of her in this post.}
{I love that this braid goes all the way across.}
{Here, Lauren wears a braid right at the hairline with short, straight hair.}
{Naturally, bohemian beauty Kate Hudson looks great with a plait in her hair.}
{Indie cutie, Zooey Deschanel opted for a more polished look here.}
{The Gorgeous Blake Lively Opts for a Messy, Sultry Look}
{I love Lauren Conrad’s look here. It’s perfect for anyone who is growing out their bangs.}
{A Beachy, Bohemian Variation of the Look by Lauren}
{Twice as nice? Nicole Richie goes for two braids atop her head.}
{Whitney Port Opts for a Tousled, Glam Look}
{Lauren wears a Cute, Side-Swept Ponytail with a Braid}
{I love the back of Diane Kruger’s hairstyle!}
{Molly Sims opts for a Sophisticated Ponytail and Braid Combination}
Messy updos featuring braids have been a popular staple on the red carpet for some time now. They lend a youthful, romantic quality to any look, so naturally they are a favorite among young actresses like Anne Hathaway, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Jessica Alba.

I also still love the braid! It's one hairstyle I never get tired of. I noticed Tinsely's on High Sociey, I watch too, but try not to tell anyone. It's so bad and I can't believe I spend 30 min a week watching!! The only good thing to come from the show is her braid and the great nail polish color she is always wearing.
Braided ♥ly Post! I always love LC Braided Sytles :) so perfect for this Spring/Summer. Will try out some of these too :)

oh yes. i too have been loving me some tinsley mortimer and that fantastic braid.
Helena, I'm with you! I keep trying it out, but I can't get the placement quite right. I really want to figure out the Tinsley braid. Maybe I'll ask my stylist where I need to start the braid the next time I get my hair cut.
How have I not noticed all these braids ? They are really cute.
I think braids are so fresh and lovely ~ especially this time of year! My husband loves this look, and I have yet to perfect it. Thanks for sharing some great images....I'll figure it out sooner than later.
this or a slight twist has been my go to look lately. keeps the hair out of my face.
I've loved this since LC first started doing it. I just wish I was able to braid my own hair like, I can't do it for the life of me! Haha.
You have inspired me!
I'm off now to braid my hair for a nice dinner out!
Such a fun look! Like Miller's, Conrad's, and Aniston's the best.

I'm afraid to ask, but could there possibly be a braided headband used to achieve Tinsley look? I wondered too.
Zooey is so cute.
What a fabulous post! I wish I could hire a professional hair braider to rock some of these looks!!

I love this look but can't braid my own hair. : (
I love the braid!! I learned how to braid my own hair just so I could rock this look :)
Love all these looks! I've been trying to figure our the braiding around the face on myself for years, but just can't seem to do it. I can only manage a simple plait like Blake Lively. Wishing I could do the cool updos or the braid like Diane Kruger.

So fun! Lauren wears them well.
Lately I have been rocking the fully-across, close to the hair line braid with my hair straightened, and I honestly could not believe how many complements I got!! From random people in the mall! I was quite surprised what a little braid could do :)
I love the braided look! Sarah Michelle's hair was the inspiration for my wedding hair too though I didn't do the messy thing.
I think Tinsley's braid may be a headband - it's too central and reaches almost too much of her head. Some of those faux hair headbands actually look decent on some though I wouldn't do it.
one of my very first posts was about braids - they are just so fresh, free, and versitile! - LOVE EM'!

I looooooove Lauren Conrad's version of the little braid in the front. I might try this today!

I love braids and I definitely have been inspired by LC. I read how to do it in InStyle magazine, and it completely works: about 1" back from your hairline, grab a 3" section of hair. Dampen it with water and french braid down as far as you like. If you have thick hair, it might hold on it's own; the magazine recommended gel to hold it. I have fine hair, though, and I have to use either bobby pins just above my ear, or a tiny little clear elastic. It works like a charm and I always get compliments!
Sadly my bangs and hair are too thin to wear the top front braid but I have been sporting the side braid and totally loving it! Great pics!
Here is how to do the LC braid.

I think they are so effortlessly-elegant, especially when done a la Sarah Michelle Gellar. It may take work to look that easily done-up, but it's so worth it!
So many great styles, it's hard to choose a favorite. Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere did a great tutorial today

I too love these looks! I just wish I could figure out how to do it :o)
I love braids! I like to keep mine on the messy side with a few loose strands falling out around the face. Plus they're a lifesaver when you're growing out bangs =)
