Kwinter & Company Interiors

Fabulous Tudor Residence, New York

Brendan Kwinter-Schwartz established her New York design firm, Kwinter & Company in 2001. Since then, she has focused on the cohesive design of interiors, exteriors, and landscaping. Her projects have ranged from Manhattan apartments, to country homes in Upstate New York, to summer homes in The Hamptons. Brendan's aesthetic is described as "sophisticated and fresh". She often mixes traditional and modern pieces with antiques and usually starts with neutral, serene colors in a room and then builds color through her use of accessories.

Dining Room: Tudor Residence, NY
I love the shape of the dining chairs as well as the nailhead trim. The contrast of the dark grey chairs and dark wood floors looks great against the stark white walls, drapes, and crystal chandelier.

Purchase Residence, NY
I love the way these chairs are upholstered. The look makes for such a lovely surprise.

Harrison Residence, NY
While I would certainly add some new accessories to give this kitchen some life, I do love the industrial stools and the fun striped wallpaper in the right-hand corner.

Purchase Residence, NY
I love the fact that Kwinter selected mid-century modern and industrial pieces for this very traditional room. The home itself reminds me of the houses I see in the suburbs all the time, which makes me like her unexpected choices even more.

Larchmont Residence, NY
I love this room. Kwinter uses a variety of textures in this living room. The clean, neutral palette is accented with a beautiful burnt orange. The velvet stools, throw pillows, lucite table, and the beautiful trim on the windows are fantastic.

Larchmont Residence, NY
Kwinter carries over the same color palette from the living room to the bedroom. I love the vintage mid-century chair upholstered in David Hicks' La Fiorentina fabric. The finishing touch comes from the little Hermès boxes.

Master Bathroom

Westchester Residence, NY
I think the greek key rug is great and it really defines the living area within a very large room. I love the green ottomans as well as the rest of the furniture chosen for this room.
