Book Review: French Accents

french accents

The French are renowned for their innate sense of style. The same je ne sais quoi that fashionable French women exude through their chic wardrobes extends into their homes as well.In the new Clarkson Potter book, French Accents, revered interiors and prop stylist Erin Swift explores the world of Parisian objects and details. Swift’s sharp eye for style was honed during her time as market editor at shelter publications including Architectural Digest, O at Home, and ELLE DECOR as well as through her work as a set designer and stylist.

I love and am so inspired by so many of the images in the book. Each room is composed of a beautiful mix of modern and antique furniture and accessories. The book is divided into a few sections: Color, Art and Furnishings, Objects and Accents, Structure, and Texture. Each section includes a plethora of gorgeous images, countless ideas and resources, and tips for exacting the same type of chic French style in your own home. I have an obscene amount of coffee table books and this one has quickly become a favorite. French Accents is a gorgeous, inspiring study in contrasts.

So-so beautiful! 1st photo has great accessories, perfectly placed on the table.

2nd photo is a wonderful display of books. I like the mantel top accessories on the left side.I see crystal, wood, leather, marble, stone, metal ...fabulous mix of materials.

3rd photo is pure sophistication-featuring fresh and elaborate millwork. The straight lines of the table and chairs are so beautifully juxtaposed with the bronze frame on the mirror.Love the symmetry as well. Tres Chic!

I will buy this book. Thank you Paloma for an over-the-top post !
