Fabulous Room Friday 03.12.10

julie bowen2

I just received the April issue of InStyle and was thrilled to see the fabulous home of Julie Bowen from Modern Family. While the entire home, designed by Julie’s sister, Molly Luetkemeyer (founder of M.Design Interiors) has a very cool, eclectic, Hollywood Regency vibe going on, the family room is my favorite space. I love that the furniture is all neutral and is accented by the use of bold-colored accessories. How cool is the vintage Chanel No. 5 sign?

I mean, is this not the most perfectly styled set of bookshelves you’ve seen in ages? I love that the backs are painted in an olive tone. It really sets off the brightly-colored accessories beautifully. I think with some patience and thriftiness, this look could be duplicated fairly easily.

I loved that article too. Modern Family is my new favorite show. I did the same thing to the bookcases in my study and love the effect.

The green paint peeking through the back of the bookshelf adds so much interest to the space.

So much goodness here. The gold bird...the bar, the chanel 5, the green backed bookshelves. I enjoy it very much!

I didn't know they were sisters... what a talented family! Love that olive pop behind the bookshelves. It's all in the subtleties right?

The first time I saw that room I fell in love with No 5 sculpture - definitely cool!

That bookcase is to die for. I'm kinda jealous of people who are so organized!!

Have a great weekend!

I practically swoon over every bookcase, but this one might just take my breath away! Something I'm going to save and try to recreate for my little crumb's room with a blush pink color on the backs....oh my mind is spinning now!

Love, love, love it!!! If I can look at an image and imagine myself sipping coffee and leafing through magazines and art books (and by "art books" I probably mean "self-help books"!) then I know it's a good thing! Mmmmm. :)

I got this issue yesterday! I was going to blog about it. Loved finding out that her sister owns M design. It was a fun/chic home!

I'm saving that bookshelves' shot for my files -- I'm always on the look out for fantastic bookshelves, especially with contrasting backs. Have a great weekend, Paloma!

These are the best edited bookshelves I've seen in awhile, and you're right, they do look like they could be recreated. I like that the artwork doesn't overpower the books.
