Lately, I’ve mentioned my desire to simplify and pare things down. When it comes to my home and my wardrobe, I’ve reached a point in my life when I find trends to be a big turn-off and would prefer to focus on a fewer pieces of quality and classic style that I will love for years. I’ve decided to create a list of LDV Essentials—stylish, classic items that are the embodiment of style. I’ll focus on decor and fashion throughout the series and thought it only fitting to start with a fabulous piece of jewelry since I love accessories.
Accessories can totally elevate an outfit and are such a great way of expressing one’s personal style. I especially love bold statement pieces—a great cocktail ring, a beautiful pair of earrings, or a really fabulous necklace. The horn necklace is one of the most enduring pieces a woman could have in her jewelry box. It looks great year-round, though it feels especially perfect for the spring and summer seasons. It pairs just as well with a cashmere sweater as with a silk blouse or simple tee. Style doyenne and former Vogue editor-in-chief, Diana Vreeland was famous for her signature accessory—a big horn tusk necklace. I actually wore a pair of layered horn necklaces to an event last week and received several compliments. Whenever I don’t know what to wear, I keep it simple—black from head to toe and a few great statement accessories such as the timeless horn necklace!

If this girl walked into a room today, she wouldn’t look at all dated. She would look completely chic and current. That’s the power of classic style!}

I absolutely love that top outfit with the camel!
I've been working my horn necklace into the wardrobe for almost a decade now P! It was a gift from my mother when I started designing...she said that "wearing the horn necklace was a symbol to command attention and respect"...dunno if that's actually truth or myth but so far so good! Raging bull comes out when I'm rocking it- perfect for dealing with contractors! lol
Love this post!

I like that thought of keeping it simple, but stylish. I do try to do that too. Investing in a few pieces is better over time since one seem to appreciate those timeless accessories. Great post. Maybe need a great horn necklace...

I never really thought of this as a "classic" but it so is! Maybe this is what I should be getting my sister for her upcoming graduation... ;)
