I’ve always been drawn to the Royal Family and because Prince William and I are so close in age, I’ve always watched him and his brother Harry fairly closely. I remember being absolutely devastated at age 15 when Princess Diana passed away. After seeing the Royals go through such a dark period, I am so happy to see them living in such a wonderful, happy era and I believe that much of that is due to the beautiful Duchess of Cambridge, nee Catherine Middleton. Since I am in London and because this is the “Best of British” week here on LDV, I knew this month’s “Modern Style Icon” would have to be British. Naturally, when dealing in style icons, Kate Moss comes to mind immediately. However, what could be more British than a modern-day Princess?
In a world filled with Mileys and Kardashians, Kate Middleton is an absolute breath of fresh air. She is poised and elegant, beautiful and dignified. She is the type of woman young girls should be emulating. Teen girls should adopt the mantra, “What would Kate do?”! As the most photographed woman in the world and as the future Queen of England, Kate is always a vision opting for classic, timeless pieces. While she dresses conservatively, she brings a modern sensibility to each of her ensembles opting for British designers like Alexander McQueen, Jenny Packham, Burberry, and Alice Temperley. Kate has handled every chapter of her public life brilliantly—girlfriend, fiancee, bride, wife, mother—and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for her, Prince William, and baby George.

Her style is simply perfect. Oh, and I want every single one of these pieces!! Have a fantastic time in London--one of my all time favorite cities! :)
Another thing I love that lends itself to her classiness is the length of her dresses. They are always so appropriate, neither to long or to short, so elegant!
I agree that she is the image of a lady with class. It's so nice to see someone her age wearing great clothes that are stylish and fun. BUT, that lonnnnnng hair is TERRIBLE! She is forever using her hand to move it from her face. I think long hair can be flattering, especially for someone of her age, but the length of her hair now is WAY TOO long. She really should get it trimmed by about 6 inches. Gina from The Midwest
She looks so perfectly royal, dressed up or down.

I adore Kate Middleton and was joyed to see her as your British style icon. You're knocking them out of the park with your choices during "British Week", and the fashion recommendations are fabulous! Thanks for sourcing them for me so I don't have to do the work to find them;)
