This week, I’m loving the layered elegance of Philip Gorrivan’s New York living room. Gorrivan appeared on the Nate Berkus show this week to share the image and give viewers a peek into his stunning apartment. I was able to find some additional images of his living room on ELLE DÉCOR’s website from when they featured it in the magazine a while back. The room revolves around rich neutrals accented with a few bold colors and patterns. I really love that it is filled with a variety of colors and textures with details and accessories that feel so personal. I find that so important in decorating. There must be life in a space and there is no better way to achieve that than to include items that mean something to the homeowner. The finished look is what I would describe as polished, modern traditional.
{The Andrew Martin International Thetis sofa features a stunning pair of pillows in Donghia’s suzani fabric. The striking red lamps are from Privet House. Notice the lacquered ceiling done in Benjamin Moore’s White Dove.}
{This living room features stunning tables and seating. The beautiful gilded cocktail table was designed by Gorrivan. The Greek key console is antique and the photograph above it, Transparent City # 6 is by Michael Wolf.}
{One of my favorite features of Gorrivan’s apartment is the amazing octagonal gallery which leads into the living room. Notice the black-lacquered walls and Greek key trim on the door frame.C’est tres chic!}

STUNNING!
Love, Love, Love it! Philip is an outstanding talent in the interior design world. We have had the pleasure of working with him to design finishes for his interiors on many occasions. On top of all that design brilliance, he is a consummate professional.

I love the gallery - what an incredible attention to detail, lighting and color! Absolutely amazing.
That ceiling! Beautiful. But do none of these beautiful living room ceilings I see in magazines have can lights or is the magazine photoshopping them out?
I'm in love with that cocktail table!! Beautiful rooms. Have a great weekend!

Who says brown colour is boring? This is a very good example of decorating using browns and still having a very elegant and cheerful room!
