I realize that it is nearly impossible to pick a single favorite designer. At least it is for me. There are so many incredibly talented designers out there whose amazing work differs quite drastically in some cases. I attempted to tackle the question around this time last year in a series about my Top 20 Design Idols. My list ranges from young American designers like Nate Berkus, the girls at Massucco Warner Miller, and Miles Redd to some of my favorite European decorating gents like Michele Bonan and Lázaro Rosa Violán, the likes of whom I have waxed poetic about for ages now.
I want to hear from you all! Who are some of your favorite interior designers?

I also love Nate Berkus! Modern/outside the box favorites for me are Kelly Wearstler and Jonathan Adler. For traditional designers, I love Celerie Kemble! Fun post! :)
Hands down it is Phoebe Howard. Her rooms just calm my soul.
funny how Nate is on everyone's list.. including my own. Sarah Richardson, Candice Olsen, Kelly Wearstler, Kenneth Brown.. to name only a FEW! like you, i simply don't have an absolute favorite. that's a testiment to both the amazing talent out there.. and my varied style tastes!
I go in waves, but lately love the derring-do of the edgier crowd -- Kara Mann, Laura Day, Luis Laplace -- are all current faves.
Cheers, Alcira

Phoebe Howard!
Oh I love Nate Berkus & Miles Redd as well! I think when Ralph Lauren does interiors they are absolutely to die for! Also, loving Kelley Proxmire, Windsor Smith, and Ashley Whittaker.
I like my hometown girls Beth Dotolo and Jan Showers. They were just recently named in D Magazine as the best designers in Dallas
I'm with you on the Lazaro Rosa Violan- just obsessed with his portfolio at the moment. And thanks to an intro from Alcira, also adoring Luis Laplace. All time favourite is Kelly Wearstler. And I have to mention Meredith Heron because she's total awesomesauce and her work on my kitchen has just utterly blown me away!!!
P.S. and Shay Geyer she's one of my favorite too in Dallas,TX as well.
Paloma,
This is a really hard question. I love too many to name only one. Sometimes I think, if I could I'd have different designers designing different rooms of my house. I know it wouldn't work, but it would be a nightmare have to pick only one! :-)
Have a nice day!

I have so many favorites, but now that Albert Hadley has retired, Bunny Williams is the leading contender to top my list. Thomas Jayne, Michael Whaley, Brian McCarthy, Josie McCarthy, Mariette Himes Gomez, and Ellie Cullman are all names to be familiar with.

I have to represent my local favorites: Tobi Fairley and Bear Hill Interiors out of Little Rock!
LOVE PALMER WEISS, Kelly Wearstler, Anna Spiro (Black & Spiro), Diane Bergeron and India Hicks (even though she doesn't call herself an interior designer).
Kathryn Ireland....she has that bohemian touch that I love but am usually afraid to exercise. Love her fabrics so much.
My Top Ten (living or deceased), in no particular order, would have to be: John Saladino, Bunny Williams, John Fowler, Miles Redd, Frank Babb Randolph, Steven Gambrel, Robert Passal, Suzanne Kassler, Jacques Grange, & Alex Papachristidis.
Wow I will make sure to check all the designers from your lists, I am sure they are all amazing! I am a huge fan of americans Kelly Wearstler and Miles Reed and brazilian designers Neza Cesar, Brunete Fraccaroli and Sig Bergamin... oh so many!
I adore Jan Showers and Ruthie Summers. I love the mixture of styles with the always consistent trademark of glamour. I have infused Murano glass in my own home and am always amazed on how it makes my house twinkle!

I'm an east coast girl but I love west coast designers like Kristen Panitch, Joe Lucas and Parish Chilcoat, and Schuyler Samperton. Something about that west coast boho meets east coast traditional look really feels right for me. I want a house in Brentwood or Hancock Park!
My favorite interior designer is Jonathan Berger. He decorated my Brooklyn town house, which you wrote about when it was on the cover of House Beautiful (http://www.housebeautiful.com/decorating/small-feminine-townhouse). Jonathan's approach is about collecting fabulous pieces; I sold my place and the pieces we bought for that townhouse have transformed (with Jonathan's help) three other houses--in Bequia (the Caribbean), Pawleys Island, and New York.
My favourite designer has got to be South African designer John Jacob Zwiegelaar - he flawlessly mixes classic European styles with traditional African art/furniture etc. I am yet to find something in his portfolio that I dislike!
My favorite designers are:
Amanda Nisbet
Tia Zoldan
Lauren Liess
and of course Miles Redd
Wendy-
Some favorites include Kelly Hoppen, K. Wearstler, Kara Mann and also love love love Lazaro Rosa Violan!
Lisa Sherry of Lisa Sherry Interieurs. But then, she's my boss :)
I will create sure to examine all the designers from your lists
