I am thrilled and honored to have been asked by Kravet to speak at their upcoming Social Media in Design Discussion Panel. The event will take place at the Kravet Showroom in the Houston Decorative Center this upcoming Tuesday, June 1st at 2:00 pm. I must admit that I am a bit nervous about it. What kind of questions would you have for me if you were to attend a panel on social networking and blogging in the design business?
If you would like to come, please let me know! I would love to see some friendly faces in the audience!

Yay Paloma! I'm coming! I want to take in all of this advice, I need it! :)
Do you know if the audience will be design professionals who are already involved in Web 2.0/social media or will it be for newbies?
I've been presenting on Web 2.0 and social media in my work field (my work isn't related to my design blog at all) since 2005 or so. Up until this year, every panel and presentation has been about getting people started with social media. The attendees always know that they are supposed to be doing this and it's a huge opportunity, but they always want to know about the time commitment, the best practices, and the drawbacks. It's hard to convince them that they money they've been pouring in to traditional media needs to shift to Web 2.0.
This year, I proposed a conference session for advanced users along with two colleagues from other organizations. We are so excited about possibly gathering other early adopters to talk about what comes next.
Congratulations on being asked to join the panel. With luck, it's the start of a string of requests!
I'm sitting on the panel in Dallas the next day! I hope it goes well for both of us.
Hi Paloma,
That is awesome :) I would ask, in what ways has your blog effected your business? Has it made a dramatic difference?
Good luck!

Congrats! Being a new blogger I'd love to hear how you started your blog, how you decided on material to blog about and how you think your blog became so successful?!
Congrats on being chosen. Wish it was in Chicago so I could come!
Congrats! I am sitting on the Dallas panel tomorrow as well and know that I have definitely looked at you and some of the other great "frontiers - women" of the blogsphere for inspiration and guidance!
