I'm so excited that my husband and I are planning to go back to San Francisco next month. We honeymooned in San Francisco and the Wine Country almost three years ago, so it has a special place in our hearts. It's such a beautiful, little gem of a city and I can't wait to see the sights we missed the first time around and revisit some old favorites like the Palace of Fine Arts.
I'm currently loving Lauren Conrad's sexy-chic ponytail. It is très Brigitte Bardot. Her hair always looks so cute! She is seen leaving her new job at People's Revolution in L.A. in the above photograph. Gasp! Don't tell me you didn't see that coming on The Hills!
Evidently, Zac Posen is the latest talented designer to create a line for Target. The only catch is that it is for Target Australia. I am crossing my fingers that the collection will make it's way to the United States. I have fallen in love with several pieces. My favorites are the Ottoman dress (shown in black above and in red below) and the Ponti dress which comes in black, olive, and red. Posen's Target line consists of the Glamour Collection which includes gorgeous gowns, cocktail dresses, and pieces appropriate for day and a Tailored Collection, comprised mostly of you guessed it, tailored pieces appropriate for work. From what I hear, the pieces are very nice quality and are worth the prices which are high for Target.
Ottoman Dress - $299 AU (About $278 in US dollars)
I'd like to continue my "Style Icons" series by featuring Reese Witherspoon. While I know that most of us consider people like Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelley, Ava Gardner, and Katherine Hepburn to be great style icons, my series will focus on modern style icons.
I think Reese is great because she always exudes class and grace. She doesn't seem affected by the craziness of Hollywood and knows what works for her. Even after unveiling her fabulous post-divorce look in 2007, she proved that in order to look our best, we need to know what works for us. Sure, some people may think she's boring because her clothes may not be as adventurous or avant-garde as those of other celebs, but in my opinion, her style is classic, elegant, and effortless. I strongly identify with her style and would probably wear 99% of her closet's contents if she would let me. I just love a girl who wears as much black as I do!
Some of my favorite evening looks:
Unveiling her new look in Nina Ricci, 2007 Golden Globes
Nina Ricci, 2007 Academy Awards
Nina Ricci, 2008 SAG Awards
Promoting her film, Rendition in 2007
